a new debut on be as one, this time is a new talent hailing from the uk, nyra lands on abers imprint 2 slices of phat sounding house music. in the perfect house revival mood that electronic music is experiencing now, a side carries lindans groove, a tune built around a basic rhythm and chopped vox but with a phat bassline that you just need to wait for it to kicks in and blast the floor.on the b side, nyra had a different approach. this time we have a driving tech house groove, topped with another vocal snippet and funky rhythm, a great tool for many dj sets!

the bristol based general midi return with great hurrah for >absinthe<, the most accessible track from their 2009 album >operation overdrive< the pair have taken the impressively catchy vocal tones from the original and spread them wide across a most impressive remix package.

here is finally the first single from yakine, a close member to the eklo family. after his featuring on the hooksey vol.1, he gave us four tracks which he worked specially for this ep. yakine explored a new sound, some more melodic and deeper works, different from his usual stuff. captor of sin, the main track here. we find yakine in a more pop dimension with the vocals. the metric rhythm is mix it up with sub and perky shuffle grooves, everything harmonized through a lead ambiance made of weird synts & pads. then shirp, lead from synths, the track go on in the same vibe, more excentric and percussive, rounded beat, and a slap bass, 80s funk type. on the flip, temptation, a more singular track, a great detroit techno influenced, with his unusual keys and some indus sounds. the story ending with aferone, a deep and sensitive balad, overhang by a poetic piano coming and going all along. solid and versatile 12 inch.

the next release on ec records is one of rotterdam based dj taras van de voorde. taras, a lifetime ec records fan, took his chance and made a real nice package of tracks for michel. the first one is sometimes, a great melodic tech-house track with quite a special flavour. dutch talented dj and producer boris ross made a great remix of sometimes called the boris ross up dub. the third track on this ep called >1998< and is a great tech-house killer made for a big public! dont look weird if djs like john digweed and adam beyer both will play this track!

slamming floor remixes, gui boratto turns sycamore feeling into a convincing club-track, with lighter colours and a straight four to the floor drive. using cut-ups and snippets of fiskers vocal, he transforms the mood of the original without losing its great melodic feel. thomas schumacher takes the track even further and comes up with a driving minimal techno workout, stripping away many of the original layers, yet using the vocal to great effect.

sweet 4 track ep by this newcomer... 3ear has a great ear for new artist! sarrass is hailing from the south-west of germany. he began his musical career by studying trumpet and piano and performing in small classical and jazz groups. later, after learning about klaus schulze he got in touch with techno which has (as we all know) a huge impact! he debuted release on compost black with the >home at the sea< ep. third ear discovered him and signed this sweet 4 track ep! a nice blend of detroit techno with abstract electronical sounds as being used by klaus schulze and the early german pioneers and contemorary house. great modern club tools with a nice personal twist! check!
